I am there to offer physical, emotional, informational, and hands-on support to new parents and their families during the postpartum period, often called the “fourth trimester.” My goal is to ease the burdens of daily life so you can enjoy and bond with your baby as you recover from childbirth. I will help you prepare yourself for parenthood, maximizing healing and rest. The benefits of having a postpartum doula are vast. There is no judgment or emotional baggage, just help and support, which leads directly to you feeling empowered.
Postpartum doula hours and services are variable and customized to your needs. Every family’s postpartum needs differ, and together, we will create a postpartum plan that works best for you.
Some of the services provided during the day are:
- Caring for baby while you rest/shower/eat
- Help with infant wearing, feeding and soothing
- Light meal preparation
- Help with light laundry
- Kitchen tidying
- Grocery shopping/errand running.
I also do offer overnight shifts consisting of 8 hours of support, with a flexible start time. While you sleep, I will tend to your baby, making sure baby is fed, soothed and content. I can bottle-feed baby or bring baby to you to feed, based on your preference. Overnight support may include tidying up the kitchen, washing pump parts, doing light laundry and preparing light meals for the next day, depending on your needs, with baby’s care being the priority.
The first step is to see if we are a good match. We will meet prenatally, if possible, and get to know each other. After that, we will plan how to meet whatever needs you may have.
My rates are $35/hour for daytime and $40/hour for nighttime.
